It’s the awkward transition from the institution of education into the work force, an area in which she wasn’t quite schooled in. She embraces leather and denim but not quite the way it was intended by Strauss back in 1873. With machines doing all the work we used to do, her nails had time to grow and maintaining that rough and ready look just wasn’t realistic. It’s 2014 and she refuses to let the lack of jobs for graduates wreck her polished exterior as it does at times her soul.
